Frequently Asked Questions

What makes you different than other doctors, chiropractors, or physical therapy clinics in Columbus, Ohio?

Unlike other facilities, where your doctor sees multiple patients during your appointment slot, at P3, you see Dr. Junak every visit for the full 60 minutes. Dr. Junak will identify the problem, provide specific education about your condition, and reassess your progress during every visit. Treatment is highly specific and personalized to what your body needs to recover and become pain-free.

How soon should I see results?

You should see immediate benefits within three visits. Results will happen fast when a problem is accurately identified and treated. If you have been seeing a provider for months or years without results, it’s time to find a new one. For patients who are not responding to treatment, a referral is made to the most appropriate medical provider based on the patient’s condition for further assessment or imaging.

Do you have any free resources for patients?

We have tons of free resources for patients! Check out blog posts like 5 Tips to Reduce Back Pain or How to Break Up Muscle Knots, or download your guide to the Dos and Don’ts of Jaw Pain. We also host free events (Injury Screenings and Workshops) which can be found by liking our Facebook page.

What types of payment do you accept?

Peak Physiotherapy and Performance accepts health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, cash, check, and all major credit/debit cards. We are both in-network and out-of-network with insurance companies. Give us a call to see how we work with your specific plan.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first appointment will include a detailed assessment leading to a physical therapy diagnosis, education about your problem, modifications to your daily routine or training program, hands-on treatment, and a prescription for two to three exercises to help you heal and find pain relief.

What services does P3 offer?

At Peak Physiotherapy and Performance, we use a combination of Differential Diagnosis, Corrective Exercise, Joint Manipulation, Cupping Therapy, and Dry Needling.

What should I wear to my appointments?

It’s best to wear comfortable athletic clothing to your appointments. Exercise and hands-on treatment are key aspects of care, so you’ll want to be in comfortable clothing. Remember, you may break a sweat!

How do I schedule an appointment?

The best way to schedule an appointment at our office is to email andrew.junak@p3physio.com or fill out the form on our contact page. Dr. Junak will set up a time to discuss your injury and determine the next step in your care. You can also call Peak Physiotherapy and Performance directly at (614) 467-0285.

Do I need a referral from my doctor to see a physical therapist?

In the state of Ohio, no referral is needed to see a physical therapist. The best way to get started with one of our specialists is to fill out our contact form and we will call you within 24 hours to learn more about your injury, pain, and goals.

How long does a typical physical therapy session last?

All of our sessions are 60 minutes long. This gives your doctor adequate time to evaluate the problem, identify the root cause of the injury, perform hands-on treatment, and prescribe corrective exercises to begin your journey to pain relief.

Can I continue my regular activities during treatment?

At Peak Physiotherapy and Performance, our goal is to keep you training during rehab so you can continue doing what you love while we solve your problem. If you don’t train or exercise, no problem! Just let us know what the injury is getting in the way of, and we will do our best to keep you doing what you love while we rehab your injury.

Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?

We do our best to accommodate both early morning and evening appointments Monday through Friday. Contact us to schedule your appointment at the time that’s most convenient for you.

Do you offer at-home exercises I can do between sessions?

At-home exercises are prescribed at the first appointment and video recorded on your phone with detailed instruction provided. The exercises are designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, and facilitate healing. You can expect these exercises to change every visit. As the pain improves, you will be able to perform more effective exercises to get results even faster.

Do you specialize in sports-related injuries?

Yes! We specialize in sports-related injuries with the goal of keeping our patients active and training during their rehab. We blend our expertise in injury rehab with our expertise in sports performance to craft the ideal recovery process for our patients.

How do I prepare for my first physical therapy session?

Take time to reflect on what makes your pain better or worse because we will ask you about the behavior of the condition. It will be helpful to gather any imaging results (X-ray, MRI, or CT scans) related to the injury for us to review at the appointment. Also, be sure to wear athletic clothing that is both comfortable and loose-fitting because we will have you move in different ways to determine the cause of your problem.

What's your cancellation policy?

We allow one cancellation within 24 hours without penalty. Subsequent cancellations within the 24 hour period will incur a $50 cancellation fee.

What's your approach to pain management during therapy?

We have a “no-pain policy,” which means that every exercise or movement that we give you for your home program should always reduce your symptoms. This is why we give all of our patients direct 24/7 access to us via text or phone call so we can problem-solve any issues that may come up.

Do you offer any wellness or fitness programs in addition to rehabilitation services?

We offer an online training and injury prevention platform that includes six strength training programs that are six weeks long (three days a week). These programs require minimal equipment and can benefit patients of any skill level. Access to our entire library of training programs, how to fix your squat videos, pain relief guides, injury prevention hacks, and discounted products is made availble for just $20/month. Think of it as Netflix for you health and fitness.

Can I bring someone with me to my appointments?

Absolutely! Anyone you would like to be involved in your health and recovery is welcome to come to the appointment.
